Seat map & venue capacity API
Show buyers where they’ll sit and how full the venue is getting. Every capture includes event information: venue name and city, venue capacity, and the seat map where the marketplace provides one — with seats per section on Ticketmaster.
Venue data is scattered: capacity in one place, seat maps in another, section names that don’t match the listings. Joining them yourself is slow and error-prone.
Captures return event information and section-level prices together, using the same section names as the listings.
How it works
1. Capture the event: data.event carries the venue, venue.capacity and seatMap; data.sections carries each section’s price range and ticket count.
2. Color the map: Use each section’s min price or quantity to shade a seat map — cheap sections light, scarce sections dark.
3. Estimate what’s left: summary.ticketCount against venue capacity gives a rough sense of how much is still for sale on that marketplace.
Questions
Does every marketplace have a seat map?
No. Seat maps and seats per section are returned where the marketplace provides them; venue capacity comes from whichever marketplace reports it. Fields that aren’t available are null.
Is venue capacity the number of tickets for sale?
No — it’s the venue’s size. Tickets for sale are in summary.ticketCount for the marketplace you captured.
