Sections, rows and seat maps in ticket data

How sections, rows and seat maps are reported across marketplaces, and how to use section summaries for seat views and price heat maps.

Section summaries

data.sections lists every section with listings: its lowest and highest price, ticket count and listing count. Section names match the ones in data.listings, so you can go from a section to its listings directly.

Use the section minimums to shade a venue map, or the quantities to show where seats are scarce.

Rows and seat numbers

Most marketplaces report the row; some also show seat numbers. Each capture’s coverage block says whether rows and seat numbers are present for that marketplace, so your UI can hide what isn’t available instead of showing blanks.

Seat maps and venue capacity

data.event.seatMap carries a map image where the marketplace provides one, and on Ticketmaster the number of seats per section. data.event.venue.capacity is the venue’s size where a marketplace reports it.

Comparing summary.ticketCount with capacity gives a rough idea of how much of the venue is still for sale on that marketplace.
