Build a ticket price drop alert
A small Node script that checks an event’s cheapest price every few hours and emails you when it drops below your target.
What we’re building
A scheduled job that captures one event, reads summary.minPrice, and sends an alert when it falls below a target. The same pattern scales to a watch list of many events.
Each completed capture uses one request; checking one event every 4 hours uses about 180 requests a month.
1. Check the price
Capture the event and wait up to 30 seconds for the result. Large events can take longer: if you get 202, poll the capture or use a webhook.
2. Compare and alert
Keep the last price you saw so you alert once per drop, not on every run.
3. Watch every marketplace
To alert on the cheapest price anywhere, swap the capture for a match: data.lowest names the marketplace with the cheapest listing. A match uses 3 requests.
For groups, read summary.minPriceByPack["2"] or ["4"] instead of minPrice: the cheapest single seat is often not available as a pair.
